Silk Dyeing Work Process

Silk dyeing is the process of adding colour to silk yarn. First, the silk yarn is cleaned and degummed. Then, the dye bath is prepared with water, dye, and required chemicals. The silk yarn is dipped into the dye bath and dyed evenly. After dyeing, the colour is checked, and the yarn is washed to remove excess dye. Finally, the yarn is dried and finished for weaving.

Pav Warping

Silk warping is the process of preparing silk yarn for weaving. The yarn is selected, checked, and arranged on the creel. It is then wound to the required length and width while maintaining uniform tension and proper alignment. Finally, the prepared warp is wound onto the loom beam and checked before weaving.

Handloon Weaving

Handloom weaving is a traditional method of producing fabric using a hand-operated loom. The prepared warp yarns are arranged on the loom, and the weaver passes the weft yarn through the warp using a shuttle. The warp and weft yarns are interlaced carefully to form the fabric. For silk sarees, the weaver controls the design, border, motifs, colour, and texture during weaving.

The yarns are kept evenly tensioned and aligned to prepare them for the next stage of handloom weaving.
